Mt. Washington's Octagonal Building

The Octagonal Building in Mt. Washington is a historical treasure…

Designed by Dixon, Balbirnie, and Dixon in 1855, it was built in 1855 for Mt. Washington Female Seminary. From 1890 to 1971 it was occupied by Mount St. Agnes College  until it merged with Loyola University in the 1970s. It now is part of the Mt. Washington Conference Center. The next time you are in Mt. Washington, check out this hilltop architectural piece of history.  All this week The Nite Lite Photo of the Day features scenes of Baltimore’s Mt. Washington.
