Booker T. Jones is the former lead singer of legendary Stax house band, the MGs.  ”I had the best players in the world when I was in Memphis,” says Jones.  ”Now I’m almost there again with The Roots.”

Booker T. came out of hiding in 2009 after a 28-year hiatus from music with a heck of an album where he was accompanied by Neil Young and the Drive-By Truckers.  He began his solo career in 1981 with the successful release of “I Want You.”  Now Jones records with Philadelphia’s own The Roots for a disc due out May 10th called “The Road From Memphis.”
