OK…I was bummed out. I admit it. I could have stayed and traveled at least two more weeks. Cuba’s a big place and it could take several weeks to really feel the true flavor of the countryside.

I was impressed by the people. They were friendly and hard working and they liked Americans. I could walk anywhere in the country without trepidation. People were curious about America and except for a few government employees they talked very little about politics. People talked about improvements and how the government was looking to change from the old ways. New freedoms were discussed without fear of reprisal. My impression was a country looking to the future with hope. A country pleased with their history and the acknowledgment that life for the regular Cuban was going to improve.
Going through customs in Charlotte was interesting. Let’s just say to those of you who plan to attend some of my in person shows, that some of the best adventures are better left unsaid on this blog.
