Mmmm…here’s a recipe for your dog that’s simple to make. These tasty dog biscuits will hit the spot with your furry family member…

Due to our dog Tess’ age, our vet suggested we not give her commercial dog biscuits because of all the preservatives in them. Tessie loves her treats…so here’s a delicious recipe I found with all natural ingredients she likes better than the commercial dog biscuits. This is a recipe from Martha Stewart.  Tom~

Nite Lite Kitchen

2 cups barley flour / 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal / 1/3 cup shredded cheddar / 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese / 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce / 2 tablespoons olive oil

 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with nonstick baking mat of parchment paper; set aside.

 In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients and about 3 tablespoons water to form a dough. Roll out mixture between two sheets of plastic wrap to 1/4-inch thick; remove plastic wrap and cut out biscuits with a cookie cutter. Reroll scraps and continue cutting out biscuits.

 Space biscuits 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes until nicely browned and firm.

 Place biscuits on wire rack and allow to cool. Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.
