Today (10/16,) the Orioles are celebrating the 30 anniversary of their World Series Championship.  Can you believe it’s been 30 years?  I can remember Cal Ripken catching that line drive for the final out.  Then, Rick Dempsey charging the mound to hug Scott McGregor.  It’s interesting how things have changed.  I remember watching that final out on a TV that was built into a piece of furniture.  We had to get up and change the channel.  Ronald Reagan was president.  The hottest songs on the radio were Men at Work’s “Down Under,” Toto’s “Africa,” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”  And, we had no idea who Michael J. Fox was yet and there weren’t any PC’s or e-mail.  We need another championship!  Can’t wait.  Let’s go birds in 2014!!
