Mark Trumbo represents the Orioles in tonight’s home run derby in San Diego, California.

He’s going to win.  I bet you are wondering why or how.

I could bore you with stats like he is leading the majors in home runs, but I’m taking more of a fan’s perspective.  Maybe a more superstitious look at things.

It’s pretty simple.  Trumbo’s got the mojo.  Real power.  A great swing right now.  It’s his year.  Oh, and he’s in a contract year.  Somehow, the guys in a contract year always perform at a top level.

Actually, it’s impossible to predict the winner of the home run derby.  It’s whoever has the hot bat that night. We have a great feeling he’s going to do well and we wish him a lot of luck.

We can’t wait for the All Star Game, Tuesday, when 5 players represent the Orioles.  That’s the most of any American League team.

Go All Stars–Go O’s.
