Leave your shoes at the door.

Experts say you shouldn’t wear your shoes inside. They can be full of dangerous bacteria!

It’s simple logic. Walking outside drags in germs and bugs. These spread on carpets and floors. But most people don’t need to worry about getting sick.

Older people and children are most at risk. So are people with weak immune systems.

Researchers looked at a specific bacterium that causes painful stomach cramps. They tested samples gathered around town for 2 years. Shoe soles in homes were about 3x more likely to test positive than bathroom and kitchen surfaces. And that’s just one bacterium. Wiping your feet doesn’t help. Because you’re wiping up what others left behind.

So just take off your shoes.
