Microwaving your tea is actually better and healthier for you, according to a food scientist in Australia.

Apparently, the best way to make the tea is by putting hot water in the cup with the tea bag, then microwaving it for about 30 seconds on half power. Then wait a minute after it’s done. This method increases 80 percent of caffeine and antioxidants like polyphenols which help prevent cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Now, this news is shocking to many tea lovers out there — even the Brits who basically invented tea.

As they always say, don’t knock it til you try it!
