Halloween is less than a week away! For some parents, door-to-door trick-or-treating can be a bit frightening. Here are a few safe Halloween alternatives for your little one this year!
Trick-or-Treat at the mall
Malls are a safe environment to take the kids for trick-or-treating. Halloween weather can often be unpredictable in Maryland, so the mall is especially nice for a cold or rainy evening.
Towson Town Center, White Marsh and Columbia are just a few mall options for trick-or-treating. All of the stores that participate will have an employee at the entrance handing out candy. Stores that get really involved will even have employees dressed in costume.
Many schools, churches, and community organizations participate in “trunk-or-treat”. People line their cars up (usually in a parking lot), decorate their trunks and fill them up with candy. This Halloween alternative provides a safe and controlled environment for both children and their parents.
Have your own party!
Grab some decorations, put on your costumes and have your own party! You can have the little ones put together gift bags for all of their friends and bake some spooky treats. Keep the kids entertained by dimming the nights and telling ghost stories or having a pumpkin-carving contest!
