Homemade Apple Crisp

An easy fall treat to make for your family

October 2, 2018

My husband and I pick golden delicious apples for our apple crisp.  Here is the recipe to try it:

8  peeled and cored apples

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup white sugar with a 1/2 tablespoon with white sugar for the apples

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 egg

1 tablespoons apple combo spice (this has cinnamon and nutmeg in it)

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon butter, melted

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F and grease 8 inch square pan.

Mix together the dry ingredients: (flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder) along with the egg. This is oatmeal-less apple crisp, but the dry mixture will look like cornmeal.

Slice the peeled/cored apples. Mix together with 1/2 tablespoon with white sugar. Spread dry mixture over the apples. Mix together 1 tablespoon apple combo spice and 1/4 cup brown sugar; sprinkle over the top of the crisp. Drizzle with butter or margarine.

Bake for one hour. Serve warm with whipped cream!!!
