A Preakness Tradition~ Black-Eyed Susan Drink Recipe

The 144th Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday at Baltimore's historic Pimlico Race Course. It is the second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown and a tradition since 1873. The traditional drink of the Preakness is the Black-Eyed Susan.

Here’s the recipe for this Preakness favorite: Cheers!

1 1/4 ounces Kentucky Whiskey

3/4 ounce vodka

3 ounces sweet and sour mix

2 ounces orange juice

Orange slice and cherry for garnish

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.

Shake vigorously.

Strain over ice into a glass.

Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
