Here Is What Happened With Facebook

March 14, 2019

Did you lose Facebook or Instagram on Wednesday?  We did and it was still iffy this morning. Now we know what was up.

On Thursday afternoon, Facebook posted that a 'server configuration change' led to the outage across multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. I have no idea what that means, but I am blaming daylight savings time.   The company apologized for the inconvenience to users and says issue has since been resolved and that "our systems are recovering".

A service called Downdetector says it was the largest Facebook outage they've ever recorded going back to 2012, with more than 7.5 million users reporting problems.

Were you affected by Wednesday's outage?  I thought it was a nice break. Makes me wonder if I should unplug from FB.
