How Long Does Your Halloween Candy Last

October 3, 2019

So, how long does your Halloween candy last after you have unloaded your bag?  You would think that since the pieces are likely wrapped they would be good for a while. But perhaps you shouldn't.

According to the people who know these things, most candies, especially the chewy and sticky ones, are good for six to nine months. You could get a little more time with white and milk chocolates.

Jelly beans and hard candies can be eaten for up to a year, while dark chocolates have a great shelf life - sometimes up to two years.

About that white powder on chocolates that have been sitting around... it's still safe to eat. But do junk them if the texture or flavor has changed.

What is your favorite candy for Trick Or Treat?
